Types of Plastic Welding
Hot-Air Welding
HAND TOOLS, AUTOMATIC WELDERS, STATIONARY WELDING MACHINES – Successful hot air welding requires three key elements: temperature, time and pressure.
Hot-Wedge Welding
COMBI WEDGE WELDERS – With combi-wedge welding, preheating takes place via hot air and the actual welding process with the hot wedge. Preheating also partially cleans the material to be welded.
Combi-Wedge Welding
Hand tools, automatic welders, stationary welding machines.
Successful hot air welding requires three key elements: temperature, speed and pressure.
Successful hot air welding requires three key elements: temperature, speed and pressure.
Pendulum Welding
HAND TOOLS – The welding rod and the base material are heated with hot air using an up and down, pendulum-like motion and consistent downward pressure.
Draw Welding (Speed Welding)
HAND TOOLS – By using a speed welding nozzle, the welding rod and base material are plasticized by hot air and joined under consistent contact pressure.
Extrusion Welding
HAND EXTRUDERS – The base material is preheated by hot air. The welding rod is fed into a heater barrel and processed by the extruder screw.
Low Voltage, Hot Wedge Welding
HOT WEDGE WELDERS – In low-voltage, hot wedge welding, a thin metal plate (wedge) is heated by controlled electrical current.
